when my friend asked me to tag along to watch the movie Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa a.k.a The Malay Chronicles: Bloodlines, I'm expecting nothing. I've had my share of Malay movies and somehow had declared not to fall into the ruse of watching them at the cinema.

Then again, I'm pleased that I decided to give in to my friend's yearning to watch the movie.

I'm blown away by the fact that it is one of our own. kudos to KRU Studios, and especially to Yusry Abdul Halim for directing such impressive movie. I heard it was very challenging for him.
And Khir Rahman definitely looked the part as Kamawas, the bad guy. Gavin Stenhouse and Jing Lu are also not bad. Actually I love their encounter before they were ambushed by the Geruda ;). This film is remarkable, go watch it at your nearest cinema.

oh, i almost forgot one incident i saw yesterday. I saw a guy sniffing glue in the bus. he was traveling alone and was carrying a plastic bag along. when i got a whiff of the glue, i didn't think it was from inside the bus. i thought somebody was using it elsewhere and the wind brought the odour with it. but my friend asked me if the guy was inhaling the thing, and when i turned my head to his direction..it was clear he was sniffing glue in the PUBLIC for god's sake. i don't know what is happening to the world these days.. sigh

this not-so-recent drama is about a girl who pretended to be her twin brother and joined a band in his place, the girl character is a bit annoying sometimes..but Hwang Tae-Kyeong is my type of guy all the way.

i've just finished watching Queen Seon-deok, and it is by far the best drama. It was about the first Queen of Silla (one of the three kingdoms of ancient Korea). It was the time when everyone believed in mystical occurrences and did everything according to those beliefs. That was the reason the king had to send away one of his daughters when his queen  gave birth to a pair of princess - fearing that the Sealkeeper Mi Shil will expose the twins, dethrone his queen and kick them out of the palace. It was due to one ancient prophecy.

The abandoned Princess Deok Man (Lee Yo Won) was raised by a maid and grew up to be a wise girl amidst books and knowledges of foreign lands - she's able to read and speak in different languages. At 15 years of age, she went to search for her true identity after being pursued by a man who wanted to capture her. She then became a Nangdo and served under Hwarang Yu Sin (one of the knights), before being discovered as the princess. 

That was the starting point of her struggle for power against Mi Shil who have been vying for the throne for decades.

There's also the sad love story of Princess Deok Man when she became the reigning Queen and Bi-dam (Kim Nam Gil), the only guy whom she could lean on.

my mom watched 'all about eve' yesterday and i had sneak peaks of it, coz i was, as usual, sitting in front of my lappy. i was transported back to the time when i heart JDG..owh just looking at his boyish face again makes me smile ;)

and his character in the drama said.."i promise after this, i wouldn't drive fast, i wouldn't make u worry again and i won't leave u"..something along that lines..
that would be enuff..don't u think so? when u love someone, u would feel sorry if u'd ever make them worried over u. and when u said promises like that..it shows that u love them, that's what i think..owh, but only if they're delivered and not just words..
it's all the little things that matters..


p/s: i'm a bit disappointed when i realised that my first final exam paper is on the same day as the one that TTTW will come out..da la lpas 1st paper tu bnyk reading subjects..

it's Jung Il Woo..the human rights lawyer in Korean drama 'take care of the young lady'. 
at first i watched the drama coz of Yoon Eun Hye, the one who acted in Goong..then dpt tgk JIW. owh, he's so cute. been trying to watch the drama online, tp asyik xley tgk je..maybe coz baru lagi kot. kat KBS pulak baru smpai episode 4 yesterday.

roman holiday

i had just finish watching my first movie starring audrey hepburn. i've been looking out for her for so long, but i haven't really had the chance to watch her acting. before this i just searched for breakfast at tiffany's . well, i didn't think of searching her in imdb or even google..huhu. so much for being a fan of her. i do like her..she's so pretty and had this charisma.

back to the movie..i watched 'roman holiday'. i used to dislike black n white movies..coz i love colors very much. but, since audrey starred in black n white movies..i just have to make some exceptions ;) but the movie's really good. i mean, she's got charm..and she pulled the character nicely. i just love audrey hepburn.
