crazy thing that happened

How would you react if you've been instructed to do something, and you did your best to execute it within your means only to end up making a fool of yourself?

And the best thing is, it's gonna add salt to the open wound you've had for years.

My batch had been outcasts since forever - by the seniors, because we are small in number compared to others and we are not as enthusiastic as them in joining the club's activities. Then, they started to make us look bad in front of our juniors.

Now, this failed task is going to make us live in their 'sweet' memories forever. Everybody contributed towards this, and it would be a good thing only if each and everyone of us realize the truth and own up to the mistakes. There will always be people who only notice others' mistakes and not theirs - but they are not school children that needs to be guided all the time. Let them figure it out themselves.

We were told to close our booths on the second day, and it was embarrassing to those that we had given invites to the event. The planning and execution were all in shambles due to lack of experience in managing this kind of events and those who had experience didn't bother to lend a hand. Then came the part where accusations came flying from all corners, and it became worse when it was heated up after being mixed up with emotions from old squabbles. Only one word to describe them - kids.

Then when they decided by themselves that they want to organize another event purportedly to be something HUGE with artistes and everything, it just convince me that they are just not matured enough to be thinking clearly. It's definitely going to need a lot of time, energy, passion and all our concentration - and we don't have that. There's only a couple of months left before our take off to the outside world. And they wanted to sneak around and hide things from the admin - that is downright ridiculous and childish.

Now I don't even know the final say for this thing. I'm just hoping and praying that it will not affect our final outcome later.

freaky

last night i went to the Malam Pertabalan Srikandi for our own Tun Fatimah college, which is our residential block. and that's because it was the last event conducted by the current batch of committee, just as it was the last event i attend before having to rent outside next semester.

there was only a handful that attended, the others went home for the weekends and had other events to attend at the same time. it was nothing out of the ordinary..similar like the other events before this. but suddenly there was strong wind blowing a whole lot of dried leaves towards us and we started to panic. it was certainly not normal.

picture googled
then it rained and the tents started to look like they were getting to be blown off. we even shrieked at one point. my friend wanted to go back, but the rain kept on pouring. all that was on our mind was the Jasin tragedy. it was hair-raising. thank God nothing happened.

FIRE!

it was dark when i woke up to the commotion, and i had to quickly find my bearings. my roommate was agitated and i only heard the word "FIRE! FIRE!" being shouted above all the noise.

picture googled
then i spotted smoke outside my room when i was at the door jamb. i could only think of getting my purse before getting out. my roommate saw what i was doing, and she grabbed her laptop before running after me. we were among the first group of people that arrived at the designated place, which was the badminton court beside the block. then my friends arrived and we stood in the middle of the court. i didn't know what made me turn my head, but that was how i noticed there was something burning in the middle of the carpark 100 metres away from us. that was the thing that made me realize it was just a fire drill.

my knees were shaking so hard i had to take a few steps to make them stop. God knows how i nearly cried because of the experience. they were all so real and it was the best fire drill i've ever had. seriously, the smoke made me believed that there was a real fire going on.

this happened at 2 in the morning last Monday, and the following day was a real tiring day. i couldn't even function properly, and could sleep after a few words of the novel i'm reading.

in deep thoughts

this is the 2nd time i didn't get to experience the earthquake's tremor. the first time was in late March 2005, it was at nite and i went down to call my bestie on her birthday. if i was upstairs in my room (in Tangkak) most prolly i would feel it. all of us had to go down and stay out of the building before we were given the green light to go back to our own rooms. this time i was attending my drama class, and knew about the earthquake thru the radio..i heard Adi from Era talking about how he ran and then turned around to fetch Burn. then my friend said she felt the tremor too coz she was staying in her room that evening.
i've been wanting to experience those kinda things myself, but then it's nothing to be really proud of eyh? everyone would be really thankful if they live to tell..and i think myself would shudder everytime i talk about it, if i'm one of them. i mean those who experienced it firsthand, not the itsy bitsy shakes.
and tonite as i watched the prime time news, i was deeply touched..by those visuals shown. usually, watching that kinda disaster i would only be in awe of the aftermath. but this one brought tears to my eyes..maybe coz i'm thinking of the Malaysians stranded there. to hear them talk, it really is scary..
lets help them with whatever we can spare..there's no telling when our time would come.
