Now you don't

The Great Gatsby posed such an attraction that drew me to watch it. The first one is because of Leo DiCaprio, the main character and also the story was about people during the 1920s. Tiffany&Co. also had a part in the movie, which is also a big thing.

I love everything about The Great Gatsby, the costumes, the jewellery, the colors, and even the pretty scenes. But it was a sad movie. It is such a loss, and I blame Daisy and her husband for everything.


Next movie is Now You See Me. You see, this movie was chosen on impulse. I wanted to watch the movie KIL, in which Redza Minhat starred. But since I was going to work after the movie, I had to choose another one. KIL would be too close to the time I need to enter for work. Now You See Me was chosen because of Mark Ruffalo and Isla Fisher. No review, no nothing.                  

And I am glad I did.

It was a great movie. At first I thought it was about a bunch of thieves, planning a heist. But it is about a magician's son, now a magician himself who planned a revenge for his dead father. I always thought the French Interpol lady was the hooded person, but it was not. This one is a MUST watch.

Business partners

I had thoughts about going to answer The Apprentice Asia call back then. Haha. The hype about The Apprentice was so huge, although I was never a big fan. I would catch whatever episode was on at that time, but I did not really follow it.

Who knew years later, I'd be choosing this field. Maybe I was drawn to it because of the show. Kudos to Donald Trump then.

I happened to notice the first episode of The Apprentice Asia, because I followed Sazzy Falak's Instagram. She is the wife of Nash, one of the contestant from Malaysia..if you are wondering. And I stumbled across one of the reruns while surfing the channels. Lucky me, I guess.

I think Alex has advantages, although we have yet to see everyone else's. He speaks four languages including Mandarin AND I just discovered that he's French.

I dislike Hendy when he brought to light that it was his pricing partner's fault and also Alex's fault that they make more loss than actually breaking even. It was apparent that he could not control his team members and he lacked of strategy. So, thankfully we can say bye bye to him.

For Team Apex, I am going for Andrea. Nik is showing some things that could tell a lot, but let's just sit back and enjoy the show.

I'm making cameo appearances for now, after such long hiatus. Hopefully I can gather more time and things to tell soon. I'm definitely good at procrastinating - guilty much. You can also blame the ease of letting pictures speak for themselves by using Instagram, that made me opt to be lazy :p

I've just completed I do, I do starring Kim Seon ah and Lee Jang Woo. A refreshing one to watch after the sad drama I Miss You. I can't help but to laugh all the time.

I'm currently watching The Rooftop Prince online - which is not what I ordered. I hate watching anything online, especially when it's something superb like this drama.

I was drawn to it because of Yoochun.

After I watched him in Miss Ripley, I wanted to watch more of his acting - he's quite a good actor. There are dramas in which the first episode or even few episodes after that would be so bland, they couldn't attract people to continue watching. The Rooftop Prince is nothing like that. It was downright funny, thanks to the Crown Prince and the trio.

lies and deception

It's been a while since I last mention about K-drama here, I couldn't even remember the last time. I finished watching Warrior Baek Dong-Soo a couple of days ago, after weeks of watching it..slowly.

Now it's Miss Ripley's turn. It's such a scary story about how bad someone can make up stories and pretend everything is real to others, when it's a sham. The saddest part (for me) was when both guys went to buy a ring for Jang Mi-ri and stumbled upon each other. The guys are different - Song Yoo-hyun (JYJ's Yoochun) is younger and shows his love for Jang Mi-ri in a sweet and innocent way, while Jang Myeong-hoon is more mature and very attentive.

Why oh why the movie Relationship Status is going to be screened at selected TGV cinemas only?

I've been waiting to watch the movie for so long, and this 'great' thing happens. Of course the reason I want to watch the movie is because Will Quah starred in it. There's also Daphne Iking and Tony Eusoff. But Will is my priority..*wink*.



So, does that mean I won't get the chance to watch it? *sighhhhhhhhhhhhh...*
Watching this is not enough. 




At work I'm starting to recognize some of the regulars at our place. There's Mr. C who has a tall latte with extra shot every morning, Mr.H went away I think because I haven't seen him yesterday and today so I didn't get to memorize his favorite. Mr. B only drinks Americano..today he had two tall ones, and another two tall ones with extra shot each - how can he stand that much espresso inside his system?

out of the ordinary

I wrote about being reluctant to go out and watch to the movies alone before, I'm slowly turning into a recluse at this rate :p
But the truth is I can't stand not watching Edward and Bella for long..my brother won't be home for three more days, so I just had to go out and forget about trying to break the record of staying in the cave a million years. Haha.

I was walking towards the ticket counter chanting Edward's name and suddenly I saw a poster of 50/50. I saw Joseph Gordon-Levitt's face and I'm hooked just like that. So I chose the 2.30 pm show for Breaking Dawn and 1.00 pm for 50/50. If you're good you would know what happened.

Yeah I didn't finish watching 50/50. I sat inside the hall with I think maybe 7 other person, and kept on looking at my watch throughout the movie. From the start, until 2.30 pm..and I rushed to the other hall, thinking I'd still be among the earliest to arrive. Funny I'd thought like that.

This IS Breaking Dawn. So I had to step on around other people's toes to get to my seat, and I just had to choose the seat near the center of the row when I usually sit beside the aisle. I want to know what is it with me today. And urgh..I hate crowds this big. Remind me never to go to Wednesday's show anymore. It's the school holidays for God's sake..what was I thinking??

But the most wonderful thing is Breaking Dawn Part 1 really delivers. I was smiling non-stop right from the start of the movie. The movie is beautiful. The dress is really..perfect. No other dress would be better for Bella.

Oh and Seth's so cute. He can shove Jacob to the side, definitely. I was never on Team Jacob, and I'd pick Seth as the wolf any day.

The royal blue dress Bella wears when she turned into a vampire is a great choice, it contrasts nicely with her pale skin..but I had a hard time looking for her picture..and this is the closest as it gets to the real one.

I think I might have shed a tear, or two when Bella's eyes flutter open for the first time as a vampire and then the credit rolls *sigh* It was really emotional for me, it's nearing the end..already?

But anyhow..Part 2, come faster please.

The Breaking Dawn Part 1 movie has been on the must-watch list for so long and I can't wait to be able to watch Edward again.

And then there's Ombak Rindu a week after that, starring hunky Aaron. I read the book a gazillion years ago and it was very well written (can't say the same for the sequels, though). It's only fair to make it into a movie when this is the time that novelists are starting to gain more money - both from the books and movies' profits. I love Lisa Surihani's hair in the posters, but what's with Maya Karin's hijab style? My sister said she dislike the stylist's (or whomever that put the hijab on Maya) work - they could do much better.

Aaron also starred alongside Erra and Umie Aida in a theatre production based on another novel I read, Badai Semalam - this one much older than Ombak Rindu. I couldn't remember when I read this one, but I found the book amongst the stack of mom's Malay Literature books. I think she used the book when she taught the subject long ago.

But sadly I don't feel like going out to the movies these days, maybe I should just wait until my youngest brother finished sitting for SPM and celebrate his freedom together. I still think of him as the baby, despite him being the tallest in the family..and not going to school anymore.

Oh and here's a picture of my first 'daging masak asam pedas'. I know how to cook 'asam pedas' already, although I can't say it would turn out nice everytime..besides, I have only used fish before. 
And I love mom's version of beef in the spicy and sour gravy. Yesterday I tried cooking it myself, without asking any instructions from mom and thought it looked like I put in a little too much tamarind juice in it. But it turned out okay. Dad said it's delicious..hehe.

If I didn't think of my sister that seldom gets to go to the movies, I would have missed watching this Sector 7.

But I'm glad I gave in to my sister. We scanned through the movies list before going up to the cinema, but I didn't think any would be nice enough to watch. And there, right before we got to the ticket counter we saw the poster. I saw Oh Ji-ho's name first and I thought, his name sounds like Korean and then I saw...Ha Ji-won's name on the left. Then I practically dragged my sister to the counter.

The movie was a good attempt and I think it was okay. But the creature was just a bit too Ultraman's-monster-looking in my opinion.

And Min Seok's character in the movie died too early. We were gushing at how cute he looked, and then he died -___-

I love this scene when they were trying hard to control the pressure and everything.

That was what me and my sister did yesterday, plus some serious take take take everything and pay.

I had a quick interview after lunch yesterday, easy to guess which industry I'm looking forward to step into - and another (this time a serious one) this weekend. I got a call and I thought it was for the quick interview yesterday, but no. I hope I'll do a great job talking that day.

Must.prepare.myself.and.the.documents.tomorrow.

I got butterflies right after the call. And ohh, I must brush up on those nonexistent-in-my-head vocabs I learnt all those years back. Wish me luck, I need them very much.

ready or not

I'd prefer to stay at home and do all the things I love than having to go out to work, who doesn't? But I'm keeping in mind that going out and be tired and angry doing work (so negative, I know :p), will get me on the plane to see the world. *Hoping and dreaming everyday*

Can't wait to head out somewhere with the cold, hard cash I earn myself.

But while waiting, I'm watching Dong Yi on DVD and Glory Jane twice weekly on KBS World. I don't quite understand why I'm always attracted to period dramas regardless of where it's from. I'm thinking of searching for Gone with the Wind movie and some other good stuff.

Should I make green as my blog theme? It seems like I'm very into green these days..haha.

Me and mom are always talking about how young the Korean actors look - they even look younger now compared to years back. We'd watch a recently-aired drama and figured out the protagonist or the second guy as an actor we've seen before (in another drama) and almost always they'll look younger than before.

And more handsome too. Just look at Park Si-hoo's photos. I didn't watch The Princess' Man because I just hate it when I can't follow every episode of any drama, and I was still in Lendu when it started.

But...yes, there is a but..I did watch the last two episodes. Just because he's too hard to resist. He looked phenomenal in his dark rebel getup and even won me over with the beard and traces of moustache he wore (I don't usually go for guys with that look) years after he 'died'.

I think a lot, like a lot a lot.

Only those who really know me would understand to what extent I work my brain.
Well, maybe there's no one who could tell. Unless you can read people or something :p

But that's what I do. And I don't think of those brilliant stuff like the geniuses do, dissecting machinery parts and figuring out how to invent a new thing or even coming up with new cures for a disease.

I think of things that happened and wished hard I could turn back time to do it better, ever since I was small. Pathetic, I know.

Now, I think of things that could happen..more than ever. I will think..what if this happens to me? What if that...? All sorts of things run through my mind.

And..I have been thinking of this. What if something happens and your loved one could not remember you? That would be devastating, a huge blow. Same goes for the person who forgets. Either way it is a sad story.

Then..I saw this movie trailer at Shazwani's blog, and couldn't help but think more.



It's one of the reasons I'm scared when being a passenger at times, but it's a different story if I'm the one who's driving. Weird.

am i dreaming?

I decided to watch Dream House after considering the movies available yesterday and today. At first Contagion was my priority as I thought that the line of actors and actresses was promising, but then it was it's last day showing at GSC Dataran Pahlawan yesterday. And I was lazy to move, don't know why I'm so tired these days when I'm doing nothing at home.

Dream House was chosen because of Rachel Weisz - the after effects of watching The Mummy when I was growing up :p

I thought the movie was going to be a scary one based on:

Soon after moving into their seemingly idyllic new home, a family learns of a brutal crime committed against former residents of the dwelling.

Sort of the killer opted to be a serial and hunt the family as his next victims. I couldn't stomach the thought that the two adorable sisters - Trish and Dee Dee, would be killed in the movie. Oh, and when I went in to find my seat, I saw that there were not many people..less than 10 I supposed, first show on the first day. Those I saw were Chinese, two girls in several rows in front of me and a few seats from me, an old Chinese guy. I was thinking, did I go into the wrong hall or what? Because there's a movie in Mandarin about a White Snake or something showing too - checked my ticket to make sure..LOL.

I'm not going to spoil the movie for you guys, don't worry. Just the storyline from Imdb:

Some say that all houses have memories. For one man, his home is the place he would kill to forget. A family unknowingly moves into a home where several grisly murders were committed...only to find themselves the killer's next target. Successful publisher Will Atenton (Craig) quit a job in New York City to relocate his wife, Libby (Weisz), and two girls to a quaint New England town. But as they settle into their new life, they discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her children. And the entire city believes it was at the hands of the husband who survived. When Will investigates the tragedy, his only lead comes from Ann Paterson (Watts), a neighbor who was close to the family that died. As Will and Ann piece together the disturbing puzzle, they discover that the story of the last man to leave Will's dream house will be just as horrifying to the one who came next.

I think the story could use some work, because there are fuzzy parts. Still, the movie is okay.

it's okay

I watched It's okay, daddy's girl (Gwaenchanna, appa ttal) starring Moon Chae-won as the main character. The drama was okay, but the character Park Jeon-seok was really scary when he stalked Eun Chae-ryeong and did everything just to make her fall for him. He even paid a guy to scare her and planned to act as the 'hero'.

That started the problems in the drama.

I love the two guys in this drama (although there's a whole load of 'em cute guys) Kang Sung as Jeong Jin-goo and Choi Jin-hyeok as Choi Hyeok-gi.

I did not favor Jeong Jin-goo at first as he seemed to be some sort of a rich jerk who can't stop drooling at girls, and preferred Ae-ryeong (Chae-ryeong's unni) to get married to Dr.Hong (the one who treated their father). But as Jin-goo and Ae-ryeong started living together after their marriage, Jin-goo became a changed man and he made me fell for him :p He was very protective of Ae-ryeong and her family...and his sunny disposition is just addictive.

Choi Hyeok-gi, although different from Jin-goo..is attractive in his own way. He's an upright person and very attentive towards Chae-ryeong. He's always running towards her direction whenever she's in trouble and that made him so sweet.

I want them both <<<<<<< greedy :p

I am not a big fan of Indonesian films - I can easily count the number of their films that I've watched to this day (unlike English or Korean movies and dramas). Not that I'm biased or anything. It's just that even though our own language is similar to theirs, I still had a very hard time figuring out every word of  their full sentences. I can only pick out certain familiar words and I felt like I'm hearing Korean language being spoken (and can only pick at some words) T_T

But when it comes to Ketika Cinta Bertasbih, I watched it eagerly because it's adapted from the same-titled novel by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. Fortunately, Ketika Cinta Bertasbih 2, the sequel had subtitles which made it more enjoyable for me.

These are definitely worth watching, and we can learn a thing or two from the story.

If it's not meant to be, it's not.

In the movie, Khaerul Azzam wanted to ask for Anna's hand in marriage. He didn't even know Anna, yet he was persistent that she's the one. But was frustrated when he learned that his own friend, Furqon already asked first. Then Azzam and Anna actually met and fell in love with each other, but Anna still married Furqon.

Furqon did a lot of mistakes - believing he's HIV positive just after a single test, marrying Anna despite being told that he's HIV positive, and didn't bother to check the facts before divorcing Anna. It ended up that he didn't even have HIV in the first place.

Azzam on the other hand was adamant to get married to whomever suitable - but over and over again something came up and he remained single. When he was on the verge of giving up and decided to just let fate decide itself, he got what he wanted all along - Anna's father offered to marry her to him. What a love journey..

I want to go to Cairo and Alexandria! Those places are so breathtaking.

49 days is a drama about a girl who was pronounced brain dead by the doctor after an accident trying to come back to life by collecting three tears from people who love her.

Among the casts are Jo Hyeon-jae, Jeong Il-woo, and Nam Gyoo-ri (Seeya).

The story is great although some parts are already expected like the bad fiance and bad BFF. And the story has a twist unlike other love stories' endings - I hate that though. I'd rather watch another pretty average ending that brings smile to my face, than this one. I wanted Han Kang to end up with Sin Ji-hyeon. Like maybe killing Ji-hyeon's character first and then making Han Kang meeting someone who looks like Ji-hyeon few years later - okay, same old same old...I know. But the ending is no fun..hmmppphh.

I've been Yoon Eun-hye's fan ever since I saw her in Goong. She's so cute you're never gonna believe her real age :p

In her latest drama, Lie to me she acted along side Kang Ji-hwan and their chemistry is incomparable. They were very comfortable with each other and I just love seeing them together. Especially when Coffee House didn't turn out the way I wanted it to be - I want Ji-hwan to end up with cute Eun-jeong, and I wished for it real hard.

remember

I'm still up at 4 in the morning (sounds like Gwen's song :p) with the fan on full-blast directly facing me even though it rained just now. I can't help but think of the time when I used to be awake during this hour often, it wasn't this tiring then. I'm getting old..haha.

I just finished watching Joo Ji-hoon in a movie. I didn't keep track of his acting career after Goong (as if I keep track of others'), but I'm disappointed when I notice that he only acted in two dramas and two movies. And I've watched both his movies, that leaves only one drama out. Actually I watched bits and pieces of his second drama on KBS World, but never got to finish it..I think he's sort of the antagonist in that one.

Antique involved Kim Jae Wook and lots of desserts. While in The Naked Kitchen, Ji-hoon acted alongside Sin Min-ah and he's so cute and cool I can't even describe it.

Charlie Day 5

After being in contact with Charlie as written here, I didn't feel any pain..at least not right away. I think the wound started to throb later in Day 2. Then it became even more of a hassle to me - I couldn't let water fall on my face during shower anymore (it felt like pebbles being thrown on the wound) when it was my favorite thing to do, and I couldn't even squint my eyes (that hurts too). Then the wound turned bright red on Day 3, and I had to look down during class hoping that nobody would notice. Fortunately only a close friend of mine caught a glimpse. I think it's getting better slowly, although I couldn't stand the pain without dabbing on antibiotic cream. And I think I caught the culprit last night lounging on my pillow - no idea if it's the same one or not, though.

On another note, I've finished watching several K-drama - My Princess, Athena, Oh! My Lady and My Fair Lady. And I'm so in love with Song Seung-heon (Park Hae-yeong in My Princess) and Super Junior's Choi Si-won (Kim Joon-ho in Athena, and Seong Min-woo in Oh! My Lady).
