I made up my mind yesterday - I won't buy the tumbler I reserved a few days back at work when another partner was busy rearranging the merchandise being displayed. At least I was thinking first - that was what I thought. I was so sure I would at least get away from spending money on merchandise this month.
I was attracted to the tumbler because of the size, it's not easy to get a venti-sized tumbler that cheap. Usually it would be nearly double the price. And most of the tumblers came in smaller sizes. Maybe this one is so cheap because the design is simple, just a big logo and another tiny one.
But today after work, I was back to the original track. No wise words booming inside my head. Just "buy it, buy it". And just like that, I bought this Black beauty. Lol. I need to get this impulsive alter ego inside me to go out and never come back. Alter ego? Pffft.
I'm kind of attracted to the Valentine's edition tumblers, but they came in tall size only. So, sorry cute tumblers..maybe your cousins next year could use some growth hormones before they come into stores :p
Is it obvious that I'm starting a collection here? Haha.

bite marks
When I looked at my right arm these days, I'll think of Jasper Hale. Want to know why?
It's not because of the muscles or anything..it's the marks that exist there, visible to my eyes. I felt like Jasper who has crescent-shaped scars and bite marks on his arms. :p
There are the marks that I got when I was dismantling the tools and washing them last week at work, which could increase in number tomorrow. Huhu. And there are the red spots I got when I was frying the catfish at home (coz we don't offer fried catfish at Mermaid, haha). But it's still better than having to work with cuts on my fingers - that will hurt so much I know, from before. Get well soon, auntie Som.
I spent nearly 12 hours at work today, including the time for attending a meeting early this morning. When I reached home just hours ago, I can barely open my eyes. You can guess how it is now. Has anyone invented rechargeable energy source for human bodies? I need one pronto. Working this weekend will be a nightmare.

am i too late?
i'm catching up with the list of John Grisham's books available - some are not to my liking, but the others like The Runaway Jury, A Time To Kill, The Rainmaker, The Street Lawyer, and The Pelican Brief caught my interest.
i wonder if the movies can make me feel the same way the books did. i'm skeptical, coz whenever i'd anticipate a great movie..they would be a letdown somehow. this reminds me of 'Ombak Rindu' the movie taken from the same titled novel by Fauziah Ashari - how would Malaysian heartthrob Aaron Aziz fare in the movie, along with Maya Karin?
on another note, the 'kid' made my heart fluttered wildly when he's less than a feet away a couple of days ago. i think it's the first time that happened. maybe i need to avoid his usual places to minimize contact.. *sigh*

time off
when we knew that we could go to the Melaka Maju officiating ceremony, we jumped at the chance. we thought it would be nice to go out and see what they have to offer.
but there were SO many people, making even the road heading to the Hang Jebat stadium congested. we went in the stadium and found out that it would be so much better to be outside. there were no seats available, unless you're ready to climb who knows how many stories high or go over to the other side of the stadium. i'm not. so, bye bye whatever performances they have lined up. we got to see the pretty fireworks right at 2010 hours on the dot, and that was it.
we rushed outside, for air..well, it was actually for food :p
there were almost the same big crowd outside as in the stadium. we had to spend a lot of time waiting for plates of char kuey teow, then some time for the drinks..there was a long queue everywhere. lucky i didn't need to queue, even though that did not mean i got the drinks at my first try.
after walking to the other stalls and seeing what they were selling, we decided to sit at this open space. that was what we did for most of the time there.

the day trip
our class had a day trip on the 6th. we needed to hear firsthand about the work of practicing PR officer. so, we went to SPNB at MAS building, Jalan Sultan Ismail - just a short talk for a couple of hours. the fried vermicelli that they served was delicious. and afterwards we went to KLCC for 'lunch'.

too much
i don't really like it when the departmental store or other shopping places put on festive songs too early. it's a few weeks before Eid, yet all i hear are Hari Raya songs.
why the rush? will it make the patrons shop shop and shop in a frenzy? i don't think so. please, put the songs on at the appropriate time - very close to the festival itself. else, it'd no longer be special. i want to listen to them while eating ketupat, rendang and all the cookies. can't wait for the makan2 all the time, just hope i won't burst my tummy then ;p
still, this fasting month seems to fly real fast.

signs
it's the usual case of new semesters, been two days and yet we haven't really started the classes for real. just getting to know the lecturers (classmates..same old, same old..just smaller in number) and the scheme of work. and i'm really glad when i found out the Miss Gan will be teaching us Mandarin language again, it will be easier i think since she already taught us last semester. the other lecturers are chatty :p and can talk endlessly. two hours of class is nothing now. one of them even gave a motivational talk, i wonder if that's the case for the whole semester :p
i even got a new room this semester (last semester living in the hostel) and i've got to act fast about renting a house for next year *sigh*

drenched all over
pictures googled
it was raining the whole morning, yet we still went out. luckily the rain seemed to stop (or rather drizzled) at intervals at the right time. my sister needed to change her Mykad, so we went to the state registry department at A.Keroh. mine was done at the Jasin's department years ago, but i didn't ask why dad told me to bring my sister to the former. maybe coz of the 2 hours processing time? i'm not sure.it was a good thing we had our passports done there before, else i wouldn't know my way and would probably be a lost sheep there. we arrived around 9.30 and it was still raining. i planned to go earlier to skip the crowd, and also to skip the crowd at the Jcard Members' Day at Jusco Melaka :p. but the rain made us start later than intended, still there wasn't much people around at the department.
when i walked in the Mykad section, i noticed that the hours started from 7.30am..that's real early. i wouldn't want to work there, although it seems that they've a quite relaxed atmosphere. it took my sister just a few minutes to settle everything and we were off to Jusco while waiting for the 2 hours before the Mykad is ready.
i thought the rain would somehow lessen the huge crowd, but i guess the discounts offered are better than being warm at home. the cars queuing up to enter the parking lot was as long as during the weekends, maybe the lot even took leave from work just for the day :p i wasn't going to wait forever just to end up going round and round looking for a spot to park the car. so i decided to park at the opposite Melaka Mall and cross over. there the parking lot was mostly occupied. it was just 10am, and rain didn't deter anyone.
there were people already leaving with trolley full of goods by the time we arrived at the entrance. the throng of people were everywhere, flocking at the bags section, the clothes..everywhere. i didn't even move much, i helped my sister to choose a bag (one that she said could make her look a bit more grown up :p). then i went to purchase a pair of sandals coz the flip flops that i was wearing was getting dangerously slippery..i wouldn't want to slip with 'flair' on the wet pavement or puddles. owh, we even managed to lose an umbrella. the first time we left it, we got it back safe and sound. but we were not so lucky the second time :p
we decided to head back and get the Mykad (fortunately the two places weren't that far from each other) after we've done with the shopping part. i was relieved to be out of the 'ants' nest'. it was getting hard to breathe and hot at the same time.
after everything is settled at the registry department, we headed to Dataran Pahlawan for a movie. i was really looking forward to watch S.A.T.C. 2, but was devastated when i already missed the 12 something show..and the next was at 3.30pm. i was tired and wouldn't want to wait that long for the movie. so i just followed when my brother and sister chose to watch Toy Story 3. i am not a big fan of cartoons and would rather watch anything else but. yet the story was really good, and i didn't regret watching it. not even for a minute.

more than what i imagined
the weekend came and ended swiftly that it left me breathless. i was hoping that i could stay and revel in that period of time forever, but great moments always left you in a hurry. who can explain that? and the uneventful ones seem to drag on forever..*sigh*
i agreed to go meet my friend in KL last saturday, to spend some time together. we are always busy (what else?), and she's one of my most treasured friends among the whole load i've gained throughout my life. the last time we met, i was still studying in the Shah Alam campus..which was like centuries ago :p both of us were not from there, but it seems that it would be our meet-up point from then on. and i'm totally glad we did that, coz she's one of those people that i'll be glad to compare notes with.
she picked me up at KL Sentral and we headed on to Midvalley. both of us weren't too keen on going to places packed with people, so we ended up having lunch at The Gardens' food court. i was thinking of having ayam penyet, but since we didn't know how it would turn out both of us had fried rice from the Thai station. then we went around - i saw Thomas Sabo's outlet, it was closed from view and wished it was already open..is it new? - to look for her nephew's Ben10 action figure.
then we went to Miss Selfridge and while my friend was trying on clothes, i took some photos ;p

after we've had enough of the crowds, we decided to go elsewhere and chose One Utama coz it's near to her place. we had a great time in Forever 21, and even tried on the rings displayed. then we stopped by Coach coz she had her eyes on the new Poppy collection, which had just arrived that day. there was this guy who approached us, but i was not in favor of his manners even if he's kinda cute. imagine talking with your clients or customers, anybody at all..while munching. he was enjoying his food that he didn't stop to swallow quickly or made himself presentable before us. he was wearing a suit and groomed to perfection, but the munching part..made him failed, big time. some points for the time spent for us though..
we stopped by a few other places before willing to submit to our aching legs and tired bodies. we decided to hang out at a coffee place and have a rest, before we saw a group of people transporting a load of Milo goodie bags. thanks to my friend who insisted that we go and check it out. we saw some registration counters and lined up.
apparently it was some kind of event that has Nestle as one of the sponsors. we just had to use our Mykad to register and get a form for stamp pads. then we can go around the booths and taste everything from cereals, yogurts, mashed potatoes to beverages. it was really fun and yummy, and when we went to collect our goodie bag, we were full to the brim and decided to skip the coffee place.
| the goodie bag |
then we went back to her place. we even watched the movie Paranormal Activity before sleep, and it was really scarry. i even imagined the door that moved by itself and the footsteps..everything. fortunately i was exhausted and didn't take long to sleep.
the next morning we went to Giant near her house for groceries, getting some stuff in bulk for her sister who's away from the country. then we went to get an Italian B.M.T each and decided to hang out at Pappa Rich coz the staff at the Subway outlet were gossipping and we didn't feel like eating there. i had White Coffee at Pappa Rich and it was so nice, i couldn't really decide if Old town's or Pappa's version is better. we also shared Roti bakar susu there, and it was yummy..it was too sweet though.
| us with shiny faces :p |
after lunch, she sent me to KL sentral and i went on to Pudu from there. it was too soon though, i wanted more time with her..huhu. we have some thing in mind and hopefully we could make it come true ;)

feeling sleepy after the rain
yeah it's about the hockey match that i had to watch yesterday. it rained cats and dogs when we were about to arrive there, and so we stayed on the bus for a while..at least until it was only drizzling. if i'm suddenly feverish today, i could always use it as an excuse to skip the macroeconomy's quiz tomorrow.."my hockey coach made me ill because of some hockey match"..haha. but no, i'm just feeling tired after turning in late last night..or should i say..morning. the noise made me reluctant to sleep, besides i had coffee at nearly 10pm..nasib baik today's sunday.
there were big puddles of water on the road..and we had to cross the road, coz our bus wasn't able to park in the parking area..the other bus did earlier. then the cars had to splash us with water..x baik btul, nasib baik i x duduk right by the roadside. when we're in the compound, everyone was busy buying fruits and snacks and everythg..everyone means us la..not the others who were already there :p
then we went in the hockey stadium, and everyone was looking at us. okay2, we know we're the celebs..no need to stare..LOL. the first thing that we saw were elementary school kids with hockey sticks..maybe they played in the morning. and then i realize that it's actually TNB Malaysian Hockey league with among other sponsors like chilli's and astro. wow, this is big..i thot it was just an average match.
the earlier match had just ended when we arrived, so we waited for the second one for like an eternity before it started. it was between Maybank and UniKL.
we happened to sit on the Maybank's side with the kids and what a great choice we made yesterday, coz i had my eyes on Maybank's player no.20..he's a great player, but he had some sort of injury and they changed player for a while. not to mention, he's hot too ;p maybe i'll be applying for a job with Maybank when i graduate later..coz they seem to have a lot of hunks around..LOL

the Maybank players throwing jerseys to the audience, sadly i'm too far from them
the latter brought their own supporters, and the former chose to bring balloons and gave them to the kids and told them to cheer for maybank..they're great at cost-cutting, don't u think? haha..we happened to sit on the Maybank's side with the kids and what a great choice we made yesterday, coz i had my eyes on Maybank's player no.20..he's a great player, but he had some sort of injury and they changed player for a while. not to mention, he's hot too ;p maybe i'll be applying for a job with Maybank when i graduate later..coz they seem to have a lot of hunks around..LOL

and when the match between TNB and KL Hockey Club was a bout to start..we had to go back. didn't get the chance to see no.20 for real tho..jauh2 x nmpk sgt..haha

i should have learnt this a long, long time ago
i dunno about other universities or colleges, but U*** students are supposed to learn a third language..'to prepare ourselves better in facing the extreme competition, fighting for jobs and etc'
when i was in SA, i took up Japanese and thankfully i completed all three parts of it with As..BUT, i can't quite use it officially..coz i dun have and wouldn't have the cert. so, no comments or statements about Japanese language in my future resume whatsoever..
actually i wanted to learn Mandarin, but it was tough when there was so many students and there was only a few classes to cater for us. that's why Japanese language came into the picture. and now, when i'm in Lendu..i have the chance to learn Mandarin again. the other language being offered is Arabic..but there's just a few that are interested to take it. at first i was worried about the registration part, and thinking about the incident before that made me had to choose Japanese as the 2nd choice..i registered as early as possible. but the first class was chaotic. i thought only half of the 3rd semester's business students would be able to take Mandarin, and the others would go for Arabic, but everyone are able to register for Mandarin got the same schedule and even class. so all of us sat in class, making noises and all..and kinda shocked our lecturer when she saw the number of students waiting for her.
then in the 2nd class, she informed that my class would continue learning with her..and the other had to be with another lecturer and have one class at night. thankfully i dun have any classes at night this semester. coz everyday proves to be tiring even tho we haven't really started learning much..maybe i've been cooped up for too long :p
now, everyone's busy repeating all the Mandarin words and greetings that they have just learnt. one after another would go.."ni hao, ni hao". "ni mang ma?" and they can be really funny or irritating sometimes..coz everyone, i mean most of other courses also learn the language. and when they keep repeating it, and then another group do the same thing..u can only stand so much. i think i dun even have to revise the lessons by myself if this continues, just listen to them daily..they're like an MP3 player or something. it's good for practice, but God help me!

the interview..
The other day my dad gave me a letter from UiTM. I was thinking apa lagi la yang diorg nak notify kan..pastu nampak cop Fakulti Komunikasi. Terus teringat, ni mesti kena panggil interview.
Memang betul pun, then i scanned thru the letter..the interview for a degree in Public Relations. Tengok the date 18th of October, ms tu tak perasan lagi..next to it ada tulis on Saturday. OMG the day i got the letter was Thursday, selang 2 days je..huhu. da la that day was my day off from work, x sempat la nak bagitau yang i won’t be able to work on Saturday. Lepas tu i remembered yang my friend’s friend pernah pegi interview tu dulu. Da contact die and all, rasa okay sket la when she told me that the interview biasa2 je. Tapi memang takde masa sangat pun nak prepare.
The next day i masuk kerja shift petang..terus je cakap dengan Kak Yana yang i nak cuti esok tu. The others yang ada kat situ tanya kenapa, ada interview eh? I said yeah, i showed the letter to them. They read it, lepas tu cakap tak payah pegi laa..bila nak masuk? etc etc. Pastu i cakap la ni baru interview, bukan nya dapat offer lagi pun. Nanti masa i resign betul2 nanti xtau la macam mane, rindu kat diorang.Balik da malam, dengan da penat lagi..terus tido je.
Bangun pagi2 boleh relax2 lagi..then da 7 something my dad da bising2 ;P takut lambat..hehe.
Sampai area Lendu tu it rained cats and dogs. Tengok2 kat sana pun takde orang sangat, baru a few girls je yang ade. Tapi rupanya memang x ramai pun yang datang, don't know if memang tak ramai yang diorang panggil or tak ramai yang datang - less than 20 people. Mula2 kena write an essay..masa tu pun tak dapat nak tulis banyak. Memang tak reti nk elaborate panjang2 pun selama ni ;P ni since da lama sangat tak write essay..memang lagi teruk. orang lain sampai penuh 2 pages..i can only write 1 plus a bit je.
Masa kena interview pun 1 hal lagi..huhu, stuck. Tak boleh nak cakap banyak2, padahal nak interview for mass com. Geram jugak la lepas tu, coz bila balik boleh je jawab..and boleh elaborate. Benda da lepas kan.
Sampai kat rumah je terus tido..then bangun for lunch, ingat nak tengok tv since bukan selalu dapat cuti macam ni..tapi tido balik plak. Mmg hopeless ;P lama sangat2 tido, sebab frust the interview didn’t go well kot? Penat sangat.
Da bangun tido petang tadi, lepak la kat depan tv sorg2 since yang lain pegi open house..malas nak ikut. last2 i settled for sweets for my sweet kat afc. Best jugak tengok diorang cari desserts.
Then tengok coffee talk and hawker woks. Mula2 macam nak change to another channel, tiba2 my fav celeb’s name was mentioned terus tak jadi tukar. Who else, Aaron Aziz la. They went around Tampines, Singapore to show his fav food joints. Ni yang rasa macam nak pegi duduk kat Singapore lak ;P boleh x??

OMG the day i got the letter was Thursday, selang 2 days je..huhu. da la that day was my day off from work, x sempat la nak bagitau yang i won’t be able to work on Saturday. Lepas tu i remembered yang my friend’s friend pernah pegi interview tu dulu. Da contact die and all, rasa okay sket la when she told me that the interview biasa2 je. Tapi memang takde masa sangat pun nak prepare.
The next day i masuk kerja shift petang..terus je cakap dengan Kak Yana yang i nak cuti esok tu. The others yang ada kat situ tanya kenapa, ada interview eh? I said yeah, i showed the letter to them. They read it, lepas tu cakap tak payah pegi laa..bila nak masuk? etc etc. Pastu i cakap la ni baru interview, bukan nya dapat offer lagi pun. Nanti masa i resign betul2 nanti xtau la macam mane, rindu kat diorang.Balik da malam, dengan da penat lagi..terus tido je.
Bangun pagi2 boleh relax2 lagi..then da 7 something my dad da bising2 ;P takut lambat..hehe.
Sampai area Lendu tu it rained cats and dogs. Tengok2 kat sana pun takde orang sangat, baru a few girls je yang ade. Tapi rupanya memang x ramai pun yang datang, don't know if memang tak ramai yang diorang panggil or tak ramai yang datang - less than 20 people. Mula2 kena write an essay..masa tu pun tak dapat nak tulis banyak. Memang tak reti nk elaborate panjang2 pun selama ni ;P ni since da lama sangat tak write essay..memang lagi teruk. orang lain sampai penuh 2 pages..i can only write 1 plus a bit je.
Masa kena interview pun 1 hal lagi..huhu, stuck. Tak boleh nak cakap banyak2, padahal nak interview for mass com. Geram jugak la lepas tu, coz bila balik boleh je jawab..and boleh elaborate. Benda da lepas kan.
Sampai kat rumah je terus tido..then bangun for lunch, ingat nak tengok tv since bukan selalu dapat cuti macam ni..tapi tido balik plak. Mmg hopeless ;P lama sangat2 tido, sebab frust the interview didn’t go well kot? Penat sangat.
Da bangun tido petang tadi, lepak la kat depan tv sorg2 since yang lain pegi open house..malas nak ikut. last2 i settled for sweets for my sweet kat afc. Best jugak tengok diorang cari desserts.
Then tengok coffee talk and hawker woks. Mula2 macam nak change to another channel, tiba2 my fav celeb’s name was mentioned terus tak jadi tukar. Who else, Aaron Aziz la. They went around Tampines, Singapore to show his fav food joints. Ni yang rasa macam nak pegi duduk kat Singapore lak ;P boleh x??

teacher??
My dad had repeatedly suggested that i take some sort of education degree, so i can be a teacher. However i’ve told him countless of times that i’ve no heart wutsoever to be one. Just because both of my parents are educators doesn’t mean that i want to be like them, or that i have any talent to educate people. I know he said that the passion to teach can be nurtured, but no thank you..i’m just plain uninterested.
I don’t want to be a teacher just because i can be one..because to me without being enthusiastic, it wouldn’t be fair to the students. I wouldn’t want to teach without really being driven to produce students with high achievements. If i want to be a teacher, i want to be able to teach the students without giving up when i’m challenged..like if there’s a naughty bunch of them in the class or if the students don’t quite get what i’m trying to teach them. I want to be able to smile in those situations and figure out some kind of solutions, which are good for both sides. I want to feel its nothing much even if i’m not appreciated by the students with gifts during the teachers’ day celebration. I want to be able to feel relieved just by fulfilling what’s required of a teacher. I want to be able to treat all my students the same, okay..of course there would be one or two that i favor but i don’t want to be a teacher that shows affections or hatred too much that the students themselves realized that. To me, that’s how a teacher should be.
But i’m not that kind of person, so i certainly don’t want to risk the next generations’ future ;P i guess it sounds a bit funny, but that’s the truth. I want to be able to give everything that i have to what i do for a living..well, not everything coz i want to have a family ;P but yeah, i want to be able to give a lot.
Besides, there’s this one issue that came to light recently and bothers me. My sis’ class teacher’s been behaving very unlikely for a teacher. She openly showed that she don’t like my sis to her other students. The other day was some kind of parents-teachers one-to-one meeting, to discuss about how the students fared in the assessments. this class teacher complained to my mom that she thinks my sis could have done a lot better. But she didn’t quite know that my sis had improved much since last year.. and when my mom said that her results are better now, she turned silent. Okay, its nothing much..but then she told my sis’ friend not to be friends with her anymore just because the friend’s result is not so good. Does she think my sis influenced this friend until her results dropped? If so, she would have better results too..rite? oh, to think of people in this world..a teacher who’s supposed to be a role model some more.
Another teacher also showed something along that line. This one’s an english teacher..i love all my english teachers. Why does this one have to be unbelievably unprofessional? I don’t quite know why she’s like this..but i do know that she gave only GOOD to my sis. Not even one excellent marked in the report card. I know my sis deserves at least a few excellent in english, if not in other subjects.
Maybe my sis did some things that those teachers don’t approve of, but that doesn’t mean they can bad-mouthed about her to others and spared her from getting the compliments she deserves. What happened to teachers’ professionalism these days? I shouldn’t talk much about this since my parents, cousins, relatives and friends are teachers and teachers-to be. But we should all think about this..and take note, that although teaching is a sacred occupation there are still some teachers that can tarnish the teachers’ good rep.
To my friends that are going to be teachers..do your best, and show us that there are a lot of great teachers still. And that u guys can keep the good rep intact.

stuff
i've been hoarding a lot of stuff ever since i could remember. in fact i have a drawer full of knickknacks back at home. i think it would be best for me to sort through the drawer and just toss out all the insignificant stuff. the thing is there are a lot of stuff lying around, and it would take forever to finish sorting through them. well, i do have a lot of time on my hand after this rite. *wink*
actually i relied on those stuff too much, i don't quite remember everything that happened in my life and so when i take a look at those stuff i can recall bits and pieces of my past. i wonder why i am like this..i mean, about how i could not really remember every single detail of my life. i want to be able to remember everything, but then i think a lot. maybe if i could, i would not have time to think for the future. i know that God has a reason for everything.
today's my last day here in this house and in S.A. i hope i would be able to be here again in the future..even though i don't quite favor this town. but i've been here long enough, that i'm used to everything and it caused some pain in my heart to leave this place. getting sentimental plak ;P
would be writing from melaka plak after this..whenever i have the time laa ;)
so long, people..until the next post
