terrible

Rest day is meant for sleeping or just doing nothing -  at home. But today I spent the whole day waiting for my number to be called.

My passport has expired, so I thought of going to the Immigration Office for a new one. And make a new Mykad while I'm there, coz both the office are just meters away from each other. I went with my youngest brother, after getting our photos from the photographer we quickly headed to Ayer Keroh. I know there would be a lot of people there as it was after 10 am, but there were so many people..they flooded the building and compound.

We went to the Immigration Dept. first. But when we wanted to fill in the forms, we found out that my brother would have to come another time - as he's still under 18 and needed either my mom or dad to be present. It was the second time for him there, that means he needs to make a third trip just to renew his passport.
There were a lot of people waiting but I think it's still better than the Registration Dept. Within an hour I finished handing in the old passport at the counter and paid the fee after waiting. Then I was told to wait an hour. So I went to the Registration Dept. to change my Mykad. I was given the number 1374, when they were serving number 12** at that time. I need to wait behind a really, really long queue.

After waiting for some time (I must be crazy today), I decided to go out for lunch and come back later. Even after one hour, there was still around 50 people before me. So I went to pick up my passport, and continue waiting at the Reg. Dept...and nearly sleep there in front of the crowd :p

Finally after more than two hours (or was it three?) of waiting, it was my turn. And after done with the photo (which the guy did a bad job) and finger-print, I need to wait another hour. So we went out again, this time to Mydin Hypermarket. I was tired with all the waiting, and getting grumpy..thank God for ice-cream. I really enjoyed the cheap but yummy King's ice-cream being sold beside the Jonker Walk kopitiam there. It was really chocolate-y and I forgot all the waiting I did earlier. Okay okay, a bit not all.

My brother said I eat a lot when I'm not working. Well I do think about food most of the time, and when can I go out and eat all the yummy food other than rest days? Haha

nappeun namja

That Korean phrase translates to Bad Guy in English.

I heard the guys talked about this one guy who used to be a partner at our outlet a long time ago. He's married and yet he spends time at our outlet with his girlfriend daily. Yes, every single day you can see them lounging around sipping on beverages and going online using the Wi-Fi service available.

And today, he asked a favor from my supervisor to send a gift to another girl who's working in the same row as our outlet. As my supervisor couldn't leave the outlet unattended, he told me to go instead. That other girl is less than half his age. Fresh out of school. And he had the cheek to make me cover his act from his girlfriend..whom just a half hour before was bragging to my supervisor that she treats her guy nicely and he didn't fool around behind her (as if).

That needs a cliche right there and then. What goes around comes around. Simple as it is. Karma. Don't do unto others what you don't want others do unto you. That is for the girlfriend.

All of us need somebody to pass us the mirror some time, right?

But what about the shameless and heartless guy? Anybody wants to run over somebody? I'll show you a picture of him. Haha.

Okay..seriously. He needs someone to hit him on his head.
This image doesn't even describe the complex situation.

what they wouldn't do

The people who are involved in the making of this advertisement are unbelievable. How can they be so insensitive towards matters like this? Pope and imam of the Al-Azhar Mosque's kissing on the lips on the poster - that is so outrageous.

I read that the United Colors of Benetton company had done other controversial advertising campaigns before. Must they do that to garner people's attention towards them? It's one thing to be creative, but it's another thing if it's insulting others' beliefs.

And they gave out excuses when fingers are pointed at them - "was solely to battle the culture of hate in all its forms". Silly excuse, if you ask me.

the end

I remembered talking to my mom just a couple of days ago about all these tragedies that happened, after reading the newspaper. And that was after I read about a guy in Ipoh who was slashed to death outside his house by an old man. There were several other disturbing news, but that one was etched in my mind.

No matter how I look at it, we are living in a very dangerous world. Shouldn't everyone be alarmed at the rate of crime committed these days? How can we walk outside our house without thinking someone out there could harm us from now on?

I recalled years ago there was news about a mentally ill guy who got on a bus and slashed people on board. That got me thinking - what if a family member rides a bus (or any public transport for that matter) and encounter that?

Okay, there's that.

Then there's people who don't seem to care about others in need AT ALL.

Have you read or seen the news about this little 2 year old girl in China who was ran over by vehicles? The driver of the van who ran her down could be forgiven if  he/she just stop and see what they've just knocked down. But no. And the passersby couldn't care less - they just looked at her like she's some doll lying on the road. Then came another one than ran over her again, before being discovered by a lady. How could they do this to the little kid? We watched the video on the 9 o'clock news and were appalled by what we can see. Poor little girl.
Before
After
This should tell us just how bad human beings are. Shame on you people.

put on a mask

I'm proud to be a Malaysian, even though it's stated at the right side bar that I'm Korean at heart :p There are so many things that comes with the M-package that I'd never change - we're always big on causes, no matter what and we have a lot of yummy food (that would definitely top my list any time). Ohh, and we're also very generous. Give, give, give all the time.

But there's one thing that makes me complain without fail. The people of this nation love to imitate other people. When Bollywood was HUGE, we followed suit. The telemovies shown were always including some sort of dancing and singing complete with the traditional Indian attire.

I should have known this one was coming, silly me was only focusing on the real K-pop scene (or rather the K-drama) that I wasn't really thinking about the 'mushrooms' back home. They popped out real fast, even the real mushrooms would be ashamed :p

Actually, I'm the one ashamed when I watched these vidoes..how can they do this to me? Why o why?
I'm gonna pack my bag and migrate to Korea this instance while wearing face mask.

Charlie

I woke up fine yesterday morning, but when I looked into the mirror while getting ready for class in the afternoon I was flabbergasted when I saw my left eye had some sort of red mark surrounding it. When I asked my housemates, nobody seems to know the reason.

So I went to the clinic earlier today, and I found out I was bitten by this Charlie. I was horrified, as I've known about this awful insect for the past few years and I know that it would take some time before it heals. And it will leave some scars. Huhu..I hate that thing.

of ignorance

the very last article i read in a newspaper that's engraved deeply in my mind was the one in 5th March's copy of NST..'Wat-er waste of water'

and i'm having headache everytime this person i know heads off to the bathroom. it would take nearly an hour of who knows whatever she does in there before she deems herself done. it only has a shower head, and not a huge, white bath tub where one can sink under the delightful bubbles and into the sweet-smelling, stress-relieving aromatherapy oil mixed water bath.

I've been hinting to her since forever that she took a mighty long time to finish, but she'd just flash her smile at me while saying, "Did I really take a long time in there?"

It would be a tad bit fine if there is nothing to rush for, but even during peak hours when everyone needs to get ready for something..she'd lingered in there taking her own sweet time. Does she think that the traffic would stop and wait for her to finish playing with water?

another trait i hate

imagine being in a company of someone who brags constantly..would u be happy to listen while that same person pours out whatever's in his/her own heart? and that would of course means not once or twice, but the whole day if u're unlucky enough to wrongly chose to be in his/her company.
i had to unwillingly paste a smile on my own face and pretend to be delighted and interested in whatever the person's talking about..mostly of other ppl. let them do or in this case, buy whatever they want..who do u think u are? someone big and rich enough with money to outdo everyone else u encounter in ur life?
and u don't even know most of the brands of goods..when u thot urself of being a connoisseur of big-named brands like L***s ***tton. i think the truth is, he/she only recognizes that ONE brand only. when i mentioned about Christian Louboutin, nothing of recognition flickered in his/her eyes pun..so much of being a connoisseur. blerrggghhh!
that person would squint his/her eyes and point to whatever kind of bags that bore that particular logo of brand and ask bluntly, "is that the original thing?"
it's not like he/she owns anything from the brand..tolong la biar je org nk beli kat pasar mlm ke, wherever they bought that thing..original or not. it's not like in this country xde copied goods at all.
even if it's his/her own friend, he/she would be like piranha looking out for blood..or meat to chew on. if the friend said they bought this stuff or that stuff somewhere, but then the one who brags happened to come across a similar stuff somewhere else, like kedai biase with no brands..he/she would be in joy and said the friend's secret is out of the box already. what the?
and he/she even had the nerve to ask how much one spend for festive season..and then bragged that he/she would spend a few times more that everyone else.
i felt like strangling that person already. ala stakat nk blagak tnjuk kaya, i'm not impressed AT ALL. tolong la grow up. after i spent the day feeling like it's wasted for being in the wrong company, i felt like banging my head as hard as i could. how could i forget about the 'impressive' quality that particular person possess? i've known about it before, and i forgot..nice memory i've got, huh.
that totally dampen my day, and i hope i would remember next time not to go anywhere with that person..and of course not to buy anything in his/her presence.

macam-macam

Sometimes i feel like the phrase customers are always right is not acceptable, when they are overboard. I mean yeah, they have the rights..but please do have the courtesy to show some manners. I’ve dealt with a lot of people to this day, and i can tell u that some are totally outrageous.

The other day baru je nk kira this one Indonesian lady's purchase, one guy asked her if he can go first because he wanted to buy just one thing (maybe he thought she’s got a lot of stuff in the trolley, or maybe coz her friends who were done pun ada kat situ jugak..nampak macam banyak barang). Since she let him go first, so scan la his stuff tu dlu. He wanted to buy a rexona deodorant, after da scan tu he asked me berapa ni? Da terang2 MYR5.90 kat ctu, so i told him la..padahal boleh tengok sendiri and tak kan la masa ambik that stuff tak tengok kan? Pastu boleh pulak he scolded me..kata "eh tadi kat sana state harga lain, kat sini harga lain..apa ni harga tak tetap la"..bla bla bla. Since i tengah puasa and tengok pulak he was wearing a t-shirt with PDRM’s logo..malas nak bising2, cakap je tak tau. Tapi bengang jugak laa, apa pulak nak marah2 cashier..bukan cashier yang letak the price tags kat shelf sane. Bila da lepas tu rasa nak je cakap if tak nak beli letak la balik, ni nak bising2 pulak ;P
Then lepas da settle the lady tadi punya purchases da takde customer Q-up to pay..so i went to look for the deo td. Tengok2 je rasa macam nak belikan mamat tadi tu a pair of specs je.

Geram, da memang terang2 kat situ pun price tag MYR5.90..n not MYR5.20 like he said it was. Yg MYR5.20 tu untuk yang the ones next to it, it was his own fault ambik benda lain and tengok kat tempat lain nak marah2 org pulak.

Pastu another customer ni, slalu jugak la nampak, aritu nampak he came in..dia nak beli tissue in boxes tu. Boleh tak dia campak je benda tu kat counter, nasib bukan kat my counter..tapi kesian jugak tengok my friend tu, then bila customer tu nak bayar pun kena campak dengan duit.

Banyak lagi la we had to go through from day to day, there are some that we can stand..tapi bila da teruk sangat n sometimes buat mcm kitorg ni tak educated n kerja untuk layan kerenah orang yang macam **** je, it’s totally tiring.
Kalau jumpa yang macam2 perangai, tapi lepas tu they all ckp terima kasih or at least just smile pn i’m contented already..daripada bengang, terus tak jadi ;P
It’s getting nearer to Raya already, sekarang ni pun da start Raya sale..next week ni mesti mad rush everyday. Dengar dari budak2 yang da kerja since last year pun takut..customer Q-up panjang sangat2, n lots of stuff happened dengan bergaduh among themselves lg..huhu. hopefully this year dapat civilized customers ;P
